"I'm just a guy," time loop alien worms, motion sickness Stef (@witchxpudding) & L (@nocturnical) discuss the viral found footage film The Outwaters (2022). Sure, the editors made some baffling…
Another Stephen King pessimistic writer self-insert in this narrative but we’ll forgive him because Kathy Bates practically eats up this performance and earning herself an Oscar in the process.
A return to Hammer Horror on the podcast with this 1957 classic starring Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing. It twists the well worn formula of the 1818 novel only slightly but this was early days in horror cinema.
Jeffrey Combs & Barbara Crampton are the ultimate horror dream team & this movie is absolutely unhinged in the best way. Even if it was nothing but Dr. Praetorius’ transformation from sniggering Jordan Peterson clone with a fur rug glued to his chest into a horny, moist, graboid into a Jim Carrey Anglerfish monster, I would love this movie.
A father-son mortuary team cut into the wrong witch. This well-paced & plotted tale may get a little tangled in the details but it's a solid movie that doesn't lean into puritanical interpretations of witchcraft for a cheap scare. The cat didn't deserve that though, he was an innocent, cranky baby.
This is a movie, a mood, an atmosphere — it's definitely confusing but in an artistic way that leaves you digging for symbols & meaning among intense imagery & genuinely unnerving moments.
