#31daysofhorror, day 17: One Dark Night (1982)

Adult teenagers, goopy corpses, dead guy drama

While it’s not technically a bad movie & some of the effects were incredibly amusing, One Dark Night seemed exhaustingly long even though it was only an hour and a half. The story hinged on a “dead” energy vampire with a penchant for the energy of young girls. & it used good ol’ golden dick high school jealousy drama to put three young girls right in his path. If I never watched another movie or read another book with that same old recycled plot mechanism I’d live a happy life but this wasn’t the first nor will it be the last. If it wasn’t for the goopy, weird animated corpses at the end I may have been mad about wasting my time. But all things considered, it was just alright. I would give the story & characters 1 chud & the goofy practical effects 3 chuds & split the difference.
